ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This kitchen remodel was inspired by the homeowner’s need for more flow and communal hangout space on the main level. The original footprint had a fully enclosed dining room with wainscot detail and a small door into the kitchen. The kitchen had a backdoor with a small window and practically no storage. We started by reimagining the entire dining/kitchen space, making decisions to open the wall between the kitchen and dining room and extending that back wall of the kitchen. We also moved the staircase to open into the dining room, which really helped with the overall flow of the main level. Adding the dark navy cabinets with the new hardwood flooring added just the right amount of contrast and drama. We counterbalanced the darker elements with plenty of white elements like the French doors, extensive millwork, custom stove, and quartz counters. Mixing metals added that touch of glam that we needed – you’ll find champagne brass, bronze, crystal, glass, and a touch of stainless in this newly remodeled kitchen.
