This mid-century modern dining room was inspired by the inherited antique credenza and hutch. This piece was originally positioned on the opposite wall, with the table flipped along the window. We moved the credenza to the other wall, and reoriented the table to create an easy pathway into the kitchen. We then dressed up the credenza by painting it Benjamin Moore’s Gentleman’s Gray, and adding antique brass drawer pulls from RH. We polished the original brass feet for a completed look. The homeowners had salvaged bowling alley planks, which were used to build the custom dining table. The Anthropologie yellow leather chairs and white Mackinder chairs added a pop of shape and color to the room. We hung the Pottery Barn Barrett Chandelier over the table for a splash of bronze and glass. A combination of contrasting colors and bold accents give this mid-century modern dining room an inviting feel – great for family, guests, and entertaining.
Before I met Becky, I was paralyzed at my process to update my home because I couldn't make a decision or trust my design sense. Becky came to meet with me and was so patient, personable, and came alongside my design ideas. She helped me feel more confident in my style and had many great ideas about how to enhance or brighten my current layout or idea. Together, we have completed my living room, dining room and my boys' bedroom. Everyday I come home and feel refreshed at how warm, inviting, and stylish my home feels, It also reflects me, my personality and my style.
