Maple Leaf Bright + Cozy Living Room
This living room is cozy, welcoming and full of personality. We used bold color and pattern to breathe life into this contemporary yet classic design.
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This living room project was centered around creating a furniture and lighting plan that filled a long and narrow space in this family's home. Our clients wanted the room to be functional for their family and for entertaining friends. The living room is immediately visible the moment you step in the home, so it was essential that the furnishings were a representation of the client's personal style and that the space looked updated and organized.
We opted to center the furniture around a new fireplace to help ground the space. Creating a focal point on the far wall, was important to help fill the room and establish a sense of balance. Artwork, a credenza and decorative lighting really add to aesthetic of the entire room. Adding an overhead light in the center of the room really helped to define the seating area and open up the space. In addition to a new furniture layout, we made a lot of updates to freshen up the space. New paint, a darker floor stain, a brand new fireplace surround, a custom stair runner, additional overhead lighting and wiring for sconces, and custom drapery panels worked seamlessly with the layout to elevate this room.
We used textiles to add color, texture and pattern to this living room to achieve a sense of fun and whimsey for our clients. It was important to them to have vibrant colors and bold pattern in the space. Shades of fuchsia, navy and black and white liven up neutral furniture and walls.
